Womens heels – in the height of fashion
To complete an elegant out fit there is nothing as nice as womens heels to complete it. High womens heels give the wearer a well dressed look and the bodyline is perceived to be sleeker and longer. According to some shoe designers, womens heels are divided into three categories. The low heel is where the height of the heel is less than 2.5 inches, the mid heel is when the heel is between 2.5 – 3.5 inches and the high heel is any height over 3.5 inches.
The wearing of heels dates back to many centuries. At that time it was not only women but men too had heeled shoes. Even today there are some shoes for men that are heeled like the cowboy boot. Over the years womens heels have come to the fore front and are now considered as women’s wear.
Womens heels come in a variety of beautiful colors and designs. There is the all purpose black, brown, white and beige heel but there are heels made with every color of the rainbow to match every colored outfit. There are also elegant womens heels in metallic colored leathers as well as gold and silver.
The most favorite of all womens heels is the stiletto heel. This is a long, thin heel styled on the stiletto dagger and is aptly named. The diameter of the heel is around 1 cm.
Some advantages of wearing womens heels are that it gives the appearance of long, slim legs. It also makes for better posture and prevents slouching. To a woman who wants height the perfect solution is the wearing of womens heels. Medically too there is an advantage because when wearing heels the arch of the foot is raised. This area carries a lot of nerves and tendons and the fact that it is lifted means that there is no danger of them being injured or worn out due to normal daily activities.
However, along with advantages come disadvantages. Some say that injury could be caused to the feet and the back if used for long periods of time.
When chosen with care womens heels can be both stylish and comfortable.
